How long have you been in the Valley and what is your background?

Design Works Interiors, a company founded by Susan Nicholson, ASID in 1994, moved to Arizona in 1999. As a degreed design professional and a professional member of the International Interior Design Association, Susan has won numerous awards for residential interiors and model merchandising. As well as serving in numerous capacitites on the Borad of Directors of ASID, she has received ASID’s Presidential Citation for Outstanding Leadership and Dedication and the Arizona North Chapter Award for Exceptional Service. She has passed the National Council of Interior Design Qualifications exam and holds a Specialty Residential and Commercial Contractors’ License in the state of Arizona. She has also served as judge for numerous design competitions.

How do you stay current with the industry?

Susan’s objective with Design Works Interiors is to supply her clients with exceptional design services, creative solutions and attention to detail. For this reason, she purposely keeps the firm small so that her selected clients get her personal attention. Susan also makes a commitment to stay informed on the newest products and trends by attending trade shows, such as Color Trends, Specialty Lighting, Classic Modernism and Earth Design.

The design process begins with a complimentary meeting to establish what your needs are and how Design Works Interiors can help you. Budgets and estimates are established with every phase of the project so that you can approve all expenditures up front. No unexpected surprises.
